In particular, this year's event also had the participation of many reporters and journalists, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), contributing to strongly spreading the message "For a green future" to the community.

Professor - Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, emphasized: “This year's Cross-Country Race is not only an annual sports activity but also a strong affirmation of the responsibility to preserve the environment, aiming to build a "Zero Waste" university model. At the same time, it affirms the school's commitment to building a sustainable environment and spreading a green lifestyle to the school community and society."

In addition, within the framework of the race, the school also implemented activities to encourage the decomposition of plastic cans and bottles through the use of specialized processing machines, located on campus, thereby conveying the message of environmental protection in a visual and practical way.

Nguyen Phuc An, a 12th grader at Marie Curie High School, said: “I am very happy to participate in the race with many other students and teachers. This is not only an opportunity to improve my health, but also helps me understand more about the responsibility of protecting the environment."

The Cross Country Race for students organized by Ho Chi Minh City Open University has been an annual activity since 1998. In addition to improving health, the race is also an opportunity to discover sports talents, add them to the school team, and prepare for city-level tournaments.
