Trade promotion
Deputy Director of the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center Tran Phi Tuong said that, implementing the decision of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on approving the National Trade Promotion Program in 2024, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize the Trade and Tourism Fair - Trans-Asia Bridge - Quang Tri in 2024 and the Trade Connection Program (B2B) between suppliers in the North Central region with export enterprises and trade promotion organizations.
As the “bridgehead” province on the Vietnamese side of the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) connecting Vietnam with Laos, Thailand, Myanmar and the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) through the Lao Bao International Border Gate and La Lay International Border Gate, the Trans-Asia Bridge Trade and Tourism Fair-Quang Tri is a prestigious and branded trade promotion activity of Quang Tri province, held every 3 years.
In 2012, 2015, 2018, the fair was successfully organized, with a scale of nearly 1,500 booths, over 700 domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations participating. Of which, there were over 100 booths of enterprises from Laos, Thailand, China. In addition, enterprises, units, and trade promotion organizations also signed many contracts and memorandums of understanding on cooperation in product production and distribution.
The Trans-Asia Bridge - Quang Tri Trade and Tourism Fair 2024 taking place from May 24-30, 2024 at the Quang Tri Provincial Service-Convention Center is an important trade promotion activity of Quang Tri province and the region.
The fair is organized in line with the orientation of domestic and export market development, is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation, promote economic development, expand markets, promote import and export product brands, and promote tourism for provinces and cities nationwide, provinces and cities in EWEC and the GMS region. This fair is expected to have over 400 standard booths of nearly 300 enterprises, units, and trade promotion organizations participating.

The B2B program between suppliers in the North Central region with export enterprises and trade promotion organizations under the national program on trade promotion in 2024 is organized with the aim of connecting businesses with representative agencies and foreign trade promotion organizations in Vietnam.
From there, promote the export of goods, support Vietnamese enterprises to export directly to foreign distribution networks. In addition, create conditions for enterprises and distributors of localities in the North Central region and the whole country to meet, share experiences, learn about market information, promote production, connect supply and demand of goods, develop distribution systems, serve the diverse consumption needs of people and promote exports.
The B2B program will be held on May 25, 2024 in Dong Ha city with the participation of suppliers, distributors, supermarket systems, retail stores, export enterprises, trade promotion organizations of 6 provinces in the North Central region, provinces and cities across the country and provinces and cities on EWEC, GMS.
At the program, participating units promote and introduce OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, typical products of localities; agricultural, industrial, handicraft and service products. Participating products meet standards on quality, food hygiene and safety, ensuring full labels, origin, etc.
Displaying images, promotional documents of businesses and consumer products, raw materials for production, prioritizing energy-saving, environmentally friendly products; alternative products to protect the environment. Here, units and businesses will organize the signing of contracts for product supply and consumption.
Improve the quality of tourism services
The Festival for Peace with the theme “Joining hands to build a peaceful world”. The festival is a new and unique tourism product of Quang Tri. The message of the festival has touched people’s conscience. This is a great opportunity for Quang Tri tourism to develop. Tourists will have more reasons to come to Quang Tri. This requires the organizer to have careful preparation of accommodation facilities and accompanying services to better serve tourists.
Currently, relevant agencies and units are re-evaluating the status of accommodation facilities, investing, renovating and repairing quality rooms to be ready to welcome tourists. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also worked with inter-sectoral agencies and districts, towns and cities, requesting units to notify tourism establishments and homestay owners to register the number of rooms and the capacity to receive guests to proactively inform guests to book accommodation when coming to Quang Tri.

In addition to preparing accommodation facilities to serve tourists, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board have coordinated to supplement artifacts, renovate and repair a number of historical relics and festival venues.
Carry out renovation of some items at historical relics and festival venues to serve tourists such as: Vinh Moc Tunnels National Monument, Hien Luong-Ben Hai Special National Monument, Provincial Cultural-Cinema Center, Provincial Museum...
Along with that, some items will be renovated at the two flower-releasing docks on the North and South banks of Thach Han River and the Bell Tower at the special national relic of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel.
