50th Anniversary of Binh Thuan Province Liberation Day

At the ceremony, officials, leaders and people of Binh Thuan province reviewed the heroic memories of their province over the past 50 years.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Binh Thuan was an important area connecting the Southern Central Highlands, Zone 5 and the South, and at the same time was a temporarily occupied area, far from the superiors, far from the Central, fighting the enemy in extremely difficult and arduous conditions. With the determination to fight and win, the army and people of Binh Thuan province continuously attacked and rose up; combining political, armed and military struggles, defeating the enemy step by step, gaining partial victories and moving towards complete victory.

Over the past 50 years, from a land that has suffered much pain, loss, and barren land due to war, and located in a dry climate zone with "too much sun, not enough rain", but overcoming all, turning difficulties and challenges into motivation, generations of leaders and people of Binh Thuan province, with high determination, great efforts, and timely support from the Central Government, have boldly chosen the right direction, gradually rising to become a fairly developed province. The growth rate of the province in recent years has been quite good. In 2024, the total GRDP increased by 7.25%, the economic scale reached more than 128 trillion VND, ranking 26th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Thuan province; acknowledged that the province's socio-economic situation has made important progress, gradually shifting from breadth growth to depth growth; the proportion of industry, construction and services has increased gradually over the years.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly and the Government are focusing on implementing the policy of restructuring and reorganizing the apparatus and building a two-level local government model. This is a revolution in streamlining the apparatus, a strong breakthrough, creating new momentum for our nation to develop. Therefore, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that Party committees, authorities, localities and people be determined and resolute in implementing it.

The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Binh Thuan needs to focus on developing high-quality human resources, promoting the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 03-NQ/TW of the Government. Invest heavily in research and application of science and technology, promote the startup ecosystem, innovation; innovate management methods, develop socio-economy, improve public services, prevent the risk of falling behind; strengthen cooperation with universities and research institutes at home and abroad to improve the quality of human resources, meet the needs and trends in the new development era.
