In the morning, busy with the job of "sowing words", in the afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Nhung Van are busy at the factory preparing orders of turmeric starch for customers. The family invested more than 1 billion VND in the production line system, the turmeric starch production process with advanced, modern, closed drying technology from 100% natural glutinous turmeric. Mr. Bui Van Nhung, Director of Nhung Van Hoa Binh Turmeric Starch Company Limited, shared: "My wife had a long-term stomach ache, and used Western medicine many times but her condition did not improve. By chance, she used turmeric starch products following the advice of the elders in the village, and her condition improved and then completely disappeared. However, at that time, the cost of buying turmeric starch was quite high, from 800 thousand to 1 million VND/kg. Therefore, my wife and I were "destined" to make turmeric starch. After a period of research from 2015 to 2019, our family's turmeric starch products were successfully produced and brought to market."
To proactively source raw materials, the company maintains links with over 100 households in communes in the district: Nhan Nghia, Tan Lap, Van Son, Mien Doi. These are natural terrain areas suitable for growing turmeric, giving a fairly high content of curcumin in turmeric. The raw material area is currently expanded to nearly 20 hectares, with an annual output of over 40 tons of fresh turmeric, ensuring no pesticide residues, safe for users.
To control the quality of turmeric starch products from planting, caring, harvesting, and processing, the company invests in turmeric seeds for people to plant and provides instructions on how to care for and harvest. At the same time, it purchases all fresh turmeric after harvest. This creates jobs for local workers and takes advantage of idle agricultural land to help people earn more income.
Ms. Quach Thi Thu, a worker at Nhung Van Hoa Binh Turmeric Starch Company Limited, said: I have been with the company since its inception, the job is suitable for older people. To increase income, my family has renovated the mixed garden area to grow turmeric to provide raw materials for the company, expected to earn 20 - 25 million VND per year.
