The Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts of relevant ministries, sectors, agencies and localities in preparing and conducting negotiations. The results of the recent negotiation rounds have shown positive signs.
The two sides have the opportunity to exchange, provide, and share information and each other's circumstances, on that basis to understand each other better, sympathize with each other more in the current context, and provide positive directions for the next rounds of negotiations, aiming for appropriate and balanced results for both sides. The Prime Minister also welcomed the US side's positivity.
In addition, Vietnamese ministries, sectors and enterprises have continued to contact and work with the US side in many flexible and diverse forms to contribute to promoting the Vietnam - US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general and promoting negotiations in particular.
In particular, continue to negotiate and promote the purchase and sale of goods that the US has strengths in and Vietnam has demand for, to contribute to balancing the trade between the two countries as soon as possible, such as Boeing aircraft, LNG gas, and some agricultural products, etc.
The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , and relevant ministries and branches have reviewed and promptly handled issues related to projects that the US side is interested in.
Regarding the next work, the Prime Minister requested that there be appropriate and effective plans and measures to continue negotiations, and try to declare the end of negotiations as soon as possible.
Negotiations need to be based on the results achieved, the actual situation, and our ability to respond; on the principle of harmonious interests and shared risks between the two sides, ensuring Vietnam's core interests, contributing to consolidating, enhancing, and promoting the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Previously, according to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, at the end of the second round of negotiations, Vietnam and the US made positive progress, identifying groups of issues that reached consensus or had similar views, and groups of issues that needed to continue to be discussed to reach agreement in the coming time.
Ambassador and Chief US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer appreciated Vietnam's goodwill and efforts in handling issues of US concern and hoped that the two sides would continue to promote technical exchanges, including at the ministerial level, to achieve results as soon as possible.
