On October 18, the People's Committee of Kim Ngan Commune ( Quang Tri Province) announced that it had drawn up a record of administrative violations in the field of food safety against Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, where 40 students were hospitalized after breakfast.
According to test results from the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute, one of the four food samples sent tested positive for Bacillus cereus bacteria, a common agent causing acute food poisoning.

Kim Ngan commune leaders added that Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue , Vice Principal of the school (the person directly in charge of boarding work), will end her 15-day suspension from work on October 22.
Currently, specialized agencies are continuing to evaluate the entire process of importing, preserving and processing food at the school, and at the same time requesting the school to strengthen close supervision of the organization of meals for boarding students.
Local leaders emphasized that the current goal is to stabilize the psychology of students and parents, ensure the quality of study after the incident, and not let students have to miss more school for reasons related to this incident.
