On the evening of October 18, the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Cultural and Art Days: 50 years of the convergence of rivers took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House. This event was organized for the first time by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Information on a large scale, synthesizing all fields of art from traditional to modern, from literature, music , fine arts, theater, cinema, dance, photography, architecture, design... to new art forms.

The event Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Arts Days marks 50 years of formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City's culture and arts after the country's reunification (1975 - 2025), and is oriented to be held regularly in the following years, becoming an annual activity to honor, promote and develop the artistic creativity of the city named after Uncle Ho.

Attending the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Cultural and Arts Days were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy.... and many artists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy shared: "The Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Arts Days are held in many locations, gathering art forms from traditional to modern, both affirming the contributions of culture and arts, and opening a new path, a path of continued innovation, aspiration and spreading profound humanistic values, applying technology to the development of cultural industries, so that the city becomes the creative center of the whole country. Ho Chi Minh City leaders are always grateful to the artists - the pioneers who have always accompanied and contributed to the city throughout the journey of struggle and development... From here, the flame of artistic creation of the city will burn forever, spreading to contribute to building the comprehensive development of Vietnamese people, making culture truly become a solid spiritual foundation of society".

In the theme space of City Colors - 50 years of theater and culture convergence, viewers were especially delighted by the panels and posters introducing typical theater works over the past 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City, which were solemnly displayed - like a vibrant flow of art, reflecting the spiritual life, aspirations and contemporary breath of the city named after Uncle Ho.

This space is further enriched by blending with the space on the wharf and under the boat, recreating the cultural characteristics of the Southern river and the community space of ethnic minorities in Ho Chi Minh City, where diverse cultural colors converge, honoring the spirit of solidarity and identity of the big family of ethnic groups living, working and developing together.

And 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City’s culture and arts are like a river that still flows steadily. From the pages of books, poems, resounding melodies, to the stage lights…, the city’s artists have contributed their heartbeats to write an epic for a heroic, affectionate and creative city.
