60th Anniversary of Regiment 320

DTO - On the morning of March 20, the Party Committee - Command Board of Regiment 320, the Provincial Military Command (CHQS) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Regiment's founding (March 20, 1964 - March 20, 2024).

Attending the event were comrades: Major General Nguyen Van Tien - Deputy Commander of Military Region 9; Phan Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; former leaders of the Central Committee, Ministry of National Defense , Military Region 9, Provincial Party Committee, and People's Committee of Dong Thap province.

The Presidium attended the 60th anniversary of the Regiment's founding.

Lieutenant Colonel Phan Van Ven - Commander of Regiment 320 reviewed the history of Regiment 320. On March 20, 1964, the General Staff decided to establish the main regiment with the code name 320 including: Battalion 334, Battalion 966, Battalion 635. From the battlefields of the Central Highlands, the Southeast, Long An, the regiment was later reinforced by Battalion 502 with militia forces and local troops to protect the border of Dong Thap province.

After completing the glorious international mission of volunteer soldiers in Cambodia and returning home, the Regiment received the order to disband in 1986. In December 1989, the Regiment was re-established and directly under the Provincial Military Command. The Regiment's mission is to be ready for combat, coordinate with the police and political organizations, maintain political security, social order and safety; officers and soldiers carry out field training missions and help people; inspect and manage, train reserve troops, and be ready to mobilize when ordered.

Proud of the 60-year tradition of building, fighting and growing, over the years, the officers and soldiers of the Regiment have always strived and determined to build a clean and strong Party organization, a comprehensively strong unit "Exemplary and typical"; always being the leading flag in the emulation movement to win of the provincial armed forces, having been awarded many noble awards by the Party and State, with hundreds of collectives and individuals being commended by the Ministry of National Defense, the Military Region 9 Command, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Military Command.

Reviewing the troops at the 60th Anniversary of the Regiment's Founding Day

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Van Thang requested the Party Committee, the Command Board and all officers and soldiers of the Regiment to uphold the spirit of revolutionary vigilance, regularly grasp, assess and forecast the situation correctly, proactively and promptly advise superiors to handle situations well to avoid being passive and surprised; regularly pay attention to improving the quality of training, exercises, and building an increasingly disciplined force. The Regiment strengthens political and ideological education for officers and soldiers; promotes the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in conjunction with the Campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period. In addition, officers and soldiers further strengthen the relationship of solidarity between the Army and the People, building a strong position of the people and an increasingly solid defense area, contributing to firmly protecting the southwestern border of the Fatherland.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Phan Van Thang awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals and collectives.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in training and combat readiness to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of Regiment 320.
