80TH ANNIVERSARY OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENT TRADITION

In a solemn and warm atmosphere, the ceremony was honored to welcome comrade Ho Van Nien, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrade Ha Ban, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, former Secretary of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee ; comrade Nguyen The Hai , Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Do Tam Hien , Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee ; leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province; former leaders of the province, leaders and former leaders of the sector through the periods ; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, Departments, branches and sectors of the province; and a large number of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the whole sector. This is an opportunity to review the glorious journey of 80 years of building - fighting - growing; to pay tribute to the great contributions of previous generations and to affirm the supporting role of the sector in the socio -economic development of the province.

At the Ceremony, on behalf of the entire Agriculture and Environment sector, comrade Ho Trong Phuong, Party Secretary and Director of the Department solemnly reviewed the historical journey of formation and development of the sector, from the first decrees of President Ho Chi Minh in 1945, the birth of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Administration, to the decision to establish the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in 2025 - a milestone opening a new development stage with a unified and modern management mindset.

Over the past 80 years, the Agriculture and Environment sector has made important contributions to the revolutionary cause and national development: Carrying out the rear missions in two resistance wars; post-war reconstruction with major projects such as Thach Nham Irrigation; successfully implementing the innovation policies of Contract 100 and Contract 10; promoting the transformation of production structure, applying science and technology; perfecting land planning and management; building irrigation infrastructure; effectively implementing the National Target Program on new rural construction; strengthening the protection of resources, environment and responding to climate change.

Entering a new phase, industry leaders emphasized the task of innovating development thinking from "agricultural production" to "agricultural economy"; expanding development space according to the 2-level local government model; transparent and effective land management; promoting digital transformation, circular economy, green economy; developing ecological, organic, and smart agriculture; enhancing resilience to natural disasters and adapting to climate change.

The sector also aims to build a team of cadres with courage, professionalism, good expertise, and dedication to serving the people; creating a driving force for sustainable development for Quang Ngai province in the industrialization and modernization period.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Do Tam Hien affirmed the particularly important role of the industry - a solid pillar of the economy and a field closely linked to people's lives. Through two resistance wars and throughout the process of construction and development, the industry has achieved many comprehensive achievements in cultivation, livestock, forestry, aquaculture, land management, natural resource and environmental protection and new rural construction.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the great contributions of generations of cadres through the periods, and at the same time emphasized the need for innovation in thinking, promoting the application of science and technology, digital transformation, developing ecological agriculture, green economy, and circular economy in the new period. The industry is expected to continue to promote its 80-year tradition to contribute more strongly to the rapid and sustainable development of Quang Ngai province.

The ceremony ended in a solemn, united and emotional atmosphere, adding to the belief, will and aspiration for the whole industry to continue writing the glorious 80-year tradition, contributing even more strongly to the sustainable development of Quang Ngai province.
