Launching Ceremony of Action Month for Children in Binh Dinh Province in 2025

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the morning of May 29, at the Provincial Conference Center, the Provincial People's Committee held the Launching Ceremony of the Month of Action for Children in Binh Dinh Province in 2025 with the theme "Prioritizing resources to complete goals for children". Attending the ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang; representatives of leaders of the Departments, branches, associations, and unions of the province; representatives of the People's Committee and representatives of the Health Departments of districts, towns, and cities; and more than 200 students and children in especially difficult circumstances in the province.

In the past time, implementing Directive No. 20-CT/TW dated November 5, 2012 of the Politburo on "Strengthening the Party's leadership in child care, education and protection in the new situation" and recently Directive No. 28-CT/TW dated December 25, 2023 of the Politburo on "Strengthening child care, education and protection to meet the requirements of developing a prosperous and happy country", with the joint efforts of the entire political system and the support of the people, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children in our province has achieved many positive results. The basic rights of children are guaranteed: children in special circumstances are cared for and supported promptly; the rate of 5-year-old children attending kindergarten is 99.1%; children completing primary school is 99.9%; completing lower secondary school is 99.7%; The rate of children under 8 years old accessing comprehensive care and development support services reaches 90%; the rate of children under 5 years old with malnutrition is under 8%; the rate of stunting is under 13%; the rate of obesity is under 5% in rural areas and under 10% in urban areas.

Speaking at the launch of the Month of Action for Children 2025, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang said that this year's Month of Action for Children is an opportunity for the whole society to continue to take stronger and more practical actions, in order to complete the targets set during the term, while creating a foundation for the next stage of development.

Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee called on and requested leaders of departments, branches, sectors, associations and localities to organize a communication campaign to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of competent agencies, organizations and individuals in solving children's issues, joining hands to build a safe, friendly and healthy living environment to fully implement children's rights, ensuring children's comprehensive development.

At the same time, deploy and replicate good solutions and effective models on building a safe, friendly and healthy living environment for children under the responsibility and authority to prevent child abuse, protect children in the online environment, prevent child injuries, drowning and traffic accidents; deploy healthy recreational and entertainment activities, promote children's participation rights, organize children's forums at all levels so that all children can discuss, propose recommendations and initiatives to ensure better implementation of children's rights.

In addition, prioritize the allocation of resources and mobilize society to implement the movement "All people care for,educate and protect children", ensuring that each commune/ward/town has at least one project for children built or upgraded. Mobilize businesses, organizations and individuals to support and assist children who are victims of abuse and violence; visit, give gifts, award scholarships and support medical examination and treatment for poor children, ethnic minority children, children in special circumstances, and orphans.

Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee also requested the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to coordinate and organize activities in response to the Month of Action for Children. Organize recreational activities, visit and give gifts to children in difficult circumstances on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1. Strengthen activities to monitor and prevent acts of violence and child abuse. Request the People's Committees of localities to develop plans and focus on effectively implementing activities on child protection, care and education according to Directive No. 28-CT/TW dated December 25, 2023 of the Politburo. Arrange funds and mobilize resources to organize visits, encourage and give gifts to children in special circumstances, children with serious illnesses in the locality who are being cared for and treated at medical facilities on the occasion of the Month of Action for Children...

On the occasion of the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children 2025 held at the Provincial Convention Center and to celebrate International Children's Day on June 1, the Provincial People's Committee presented 110 gifts to children in special circumstances in districts, towns and cities (each gift worth 300,000 VND, including 200,000 VND in cash and 100,000 VND in kind).
