When will the 10th People's Artist and Meritorious Artist award ceremony take place?

Sharing with VTC News, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the Ceremony to award the titles of People's Artist (NSND) and Meritorious Artist (NSUT) will take place at 7:30 a.m. on March 6, 2024 at the Hanoi Opera House. The rehearsal program will take place on March 5 at the Hanoi Opera House.

Previously, the ceremony to award the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist was scheduled to take place on January 31, 2024 but was later postponed.

According to Decision 1431/QD-CTN signed byPresident Vo Van Thuong on November 28, 2023 and Decision 724/QD-CTN signed on June 22, 2023, 119 individuals were awarded the title of People's Artist, 256 individuals were awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, 5 individuals were posthumously awarded the title of People's Artist and one individual was posthumously awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in the 10th consideration period.

The artists who were awarded the title this time were spread across the fields of: Stage, Music, Cinema, Dance, Radio - Television. Of which, there were more than 60 artists in the stage field who were awarded the title of People's Artist, and 40 artists in the music field.

At the event, in addition to announcing the President's decision to confer the title, the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will also report on the 10th People's Artist and Meritorious Artist awarding ceremony in 2023. After that, the People's Artists and Meritorious Artists will be invited to the podium to receive the title conferment certificate from the leaders of the Party and State.

People's Artist and Meritorious Artist are noble titles awarded by the State to those working in the performing arts. In addition to certificates of merit, artists who are awarded the title will receive corresponding bonuses according to regulations.

According to Decree 98/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation, effective from January 1, 2024, the bonus level for People's Artists is 12.5 times the base salary, and for Meritorious Artists is 9 times the base salary.

Specifically, artists receiving the title of People's Artist receive a bonus of 22.5 million VND (equivalent to a coefficient of 12.5). Artists receiving the title of Meritorious Artist receive a bonus of 16.2 million VND (equivalent to a coefficient of 9).

In addition, artists who are awarded the title will also receive a salary increase from their governing body.
