2025 New Year Holiday Schedule for Students Nationwide

According to the 2024-2025 school year schedule of the Ministry of Education and Training , for preschool education, general education and continuing education, most localities across the country will give students a day off for New Year's Day. Specifically, January 1, 2025.

Accordingly, semester 1 will end before January 18, 2025. The program will be completed and the school year will end before May 31, 2025.

Consideration of recognition of completion of primary school program and recognition of secondary school graduation before June 30, 2025.

Complete enrollment for first grade classes before July 31, 2025.

The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26 and 27, 2025. Other national exams are organized according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Regarding the principles of building the school year schedule of localities, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates: The school year schedule of localities must ensure 35 weeks of actual study (semester 1 has 18 weeks, semester 2 has 17 weeks).

Regarding the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule, compared to previous years, the Tet holiday schedule in the provinces this year is more diverse, due to many ways to combine it with weekends.

For example, with the same number of days off as 14, Binh Phuoc and Tra Vinh let students off from January 20, returning to school on February 2, 2025, while the vacation for students in Quang Ninh and Soc Trang starts from January 27 and ends on February 9.

Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Lunar New Year holiday for students will last from January 25 to February 2, 2025 (December 26 to January 5), or 9 days.
