The Straits Times newspaper quoted a statement on March 17 from Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying that Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean will greet senior Chinese leaders in Beijing, and have meetings with leaders of the southwestern Sichuan province and the eastern coastal province of Zhejiang.

He is also scheduled to visit the Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park in Sichuan and the Singapore-Hangzhou Science & Technology Park in Zhejiang.

Both parks are being developed jointly by Singaporean companies and Chinese partners.

This is Mr Teo Chee Hean's first visit to mainland China since 2019.

Mr Teo Chee Hean, Coordinating Minister for National Security, has co-chaired several important cooperation mechanisms between Singapore and China, including the Bilateral Cooperation Council, the highest-level forum between the two countries.

He will be accompanied by Senior Minister of State for Sustainability, Environment and Human Resources Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Communications, Information and National Development Tan Kiat How and Minister of State for Home Affairs, Social and Family Development Sun Xueling, as well as officials from various ministries.
