The VINANST-16 conference attracted about 80 organizations with more than 400 delegates, including domestic and foreign experts and scientists . This is a particularly meaningful event, taking place in the context of Vietnam promoting energy transition and science and technology development, towards the goal of green growth and sustainable development.

Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology , highly appreciated the support of international organizations such as IAEA, RCA, and the cooperation of research institutes, universities and enterprises at home and abroad. He emphasized: "Your presence and companionship is a testament to the spirit of extensive international cooperation, contributing to improving Vietnam's nuclear science and technology capacity in the new period".
Over the past 40 years, Vietnam's nuclear energy sector has made many important strides from basic research, applications in medicine, agriculture, industry, to radiation safety and human resource training. These contributions have practically contributed to the socio -economic development, public health protection and energy security of the country. This conference also aims to promote international cooperation, concretizing the General Secretary's guidance into the practical development of Vietnam's nuclear energy sector.
With more than 200 scientific reports in many fields from basic research, technology development, practical application to safety management, VINANST-16 is an open scientific forum for Vietnamese and international scientists to exchange and share experiences, and at the same time propose new directions suitable to the country's development needs.
The plenary session focused on advanced nuclear technologies, while other reports discussed key projects such as the Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center (CNST) Project, the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Project, electron beam technology and accelerator development.
Da Nang City currently has about 500 radiation facilities, mainly focusing on the application of nuclear medicine, oncology - radiotherapy, as well as the use of radioactive sources and radiation equipment in security checks, screening, industrial irradiation, and food preservation. Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, hopes to continue receiving support and cooperation from relevant ministries, branches, international organizations, experts and scientists to apply nuclear technology and techniques to serve the task of socio-economic development.
