Strengthening cooperation and sharing of experiences in trade union activities

Through the meeting, the Hanoi City Labor Federation and the Shanghai General Confederation of Labor exchanged experiences in managing union members, caring for the material and spiritual life of workers, building strong organizations, applying digital technology in operations, and opening up many directions for practical cooperation between the two cities.

On the afternoon of November 26, in Hanoi , Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation (HCY) Le Dinh Hung chaired a meeting with the working delegation of the Shanghai City General Confederation of Labor (China) led by Mr. Wang Houfu - Party Secretary of the Shanghai Vocational College of Labor Management.

Practical care for union members and workers

In his welcoming speech, Mr. Le Dinh Hung expressed his pleasure to welcome and share the outstanding achievements of the Capital Trade Union in recent times. According to the Hanoi Labor Federation, implementing the policy of streamlining the apparatus of the Party and State, the City Labor Federation has completed the arrangement and termination of the activities of 45 grassroots trade unions, currently directly managing more than 6,300 grassroots trade unions with more than 630,000 union members.

In the past year, the Capital Trade Union has innovated its methods of operation, focusing on protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers. All agencies and units organized conferences for civil servants, public employees, and workers; nearly 78% of enterprises organized conferences for workers; more than 4,700 Collective Labor Agreements were signed with more favorable terms for workers.

The work of caring for material and spiritual life has been implemented extensively and practically. More than 900,000 workers have been supported with a total budget of over 388 billion VND; 31 "Union Shelters" have been newly built and repaired; more than 200,000 "Union Meals" have been organized in industrial parks and enterprises, creating a connection between employers, unions and workers.

Patriotic emulation movements such as “Creative Labor” and “Capital’s Excellent Workers” have been effectively maintained, arousing the spirit of initiative and technical innovation, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the Capital. In addition, cultural and spiritual life is taken care of through a system of 92 Self-Management Groups of boarding houses and 75 Workers’ Cultural Activity Points.

Suggesting directions for cooperation

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Wang Houfu - Party Secretary of Shanghai Trade Union Management Vocational College - expressed his thanks for the warm welcome and congratulated the outstanding achievements of the Capital Trade Union, especially in the work of reorganizing and perfecting the apparatus.

At the working session, the two sides focused on exchanging experiences in developing union members, building strong union organizations, managing union members in the informal sector, training officials, improving vocational skills for workers, as well as applying digital transformation in management.

The leaders of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor hope that the Shanghai General Confederation of Labor will continue to strengthen comprehensive cooperation through delegation exchanges, sharing experiences in modern inspection, applying digital technology , organizing seminars and sharing information and documents to build a transparent and professional union organization.

The results of innovating working methods, taking practical care of union members' lives and applying digital transformation are also the basis for the Hanoi City Labor Confederation to exchange and cooperate internationally. At the same time, the Hanoi Labor Confederation also shared experiences and suggested directions for implementing annual activities such as the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" and "Tet Trung Tue" in 2026, ensuring that all union members and workers, especially those in difficult cases, have a full and cozy Tet.

The working session contributed to enhancing understanding and tightening cooperation between the trade union organizations of the two big cities and opened up many opportunities for practical cooperation in the coming time.
