Spreading the message of aspiration for independence, peace and friendship through A80 events

At the conference summarizing the activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (A80) held on October 9 in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for Celebrating Major Holidays assessed that the commemorative activities were organized solemnly, appropriately, and with absolute safety; not only arousing pride and aspirations for development among the people, but also strongly spreading the message of Vietnam's aspirations for independence, peace, and friendship to international friends.

According to the report at the conference, the A80 activities were organized successfully, solemnly, in accordance with the event's scale, absolutely safe, ensuring the set requirements.

That success was achieved thanks to the attention and close direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, especially the General Secretary and the Standing Secretariat, the Head of the Central Steering Committee; the sense of responsibility, intelligence, close, systematic and scientific coordination of the members of the Steering Committee, ministries, branches and localities; along with the sense of responsibility, patriotism and high self-awareness of the people of the whole country; the companionship of organizations, individuals and businesses as well as the help, solidarity and good feelings of international friends.

The commemorative activities have contributed to spreading the profound message of the aspiration for independence, freedom, peace and friendship to international friends; bringing great emotion and pride to compatriots, cadres and soldiers across the country, creating a strong wave of patriotism. The immortal spirit of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 will continue to be an important driving force to bring our nation firmly into the new era of development, continuing to write the glorious golden pages of the nation's history.

In particular, the Anniversary Ceremony, parade and march at Ba Dinh Square were solemnly organized with many new and creative features, on the largest scale ever with the participation of leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; 500 international delegates; domestic delegates, especially the participation of more than 6,500 meritorious people across the country and nearly 30,000 cadres, soldiers, union members, youth, overseas Vietnamese and people of all forces directly participating at Ba Dinh Square.

On the Hanoi side, the City has proactively and actively prepared all the necessary conditions regarding facilities and logistics such as adding and erecting stands when the number of delegates increases, installing sound systems, designing decorations and layouts, arranging hundreds of LED screens, loudspeakers, bus systems, mobile toilets, supporting volunteers, etc., creating the most favorable conditions for the people of the capital and localities to participate, joining in the atmosphere of the great national festival. Security and order assurance work has been deployed at the highest and most drastic level, early and from afar, ensuring absolute security and safety for the Celebration.

Social activities and emulation movements for socio-economic development have also been strongly implemented, such as tourism stimulus activities, launching patriotic emulation movements, typically the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025", mobilizing the participation of the entire political system and all classes of people.

The Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission has proactively and actively directed and oriented propaganda content for press and media agencies and forces of Steering Committee 35 at all levels and sectors. From August 15 to September 2, 2025, nearly 100,000 media channels and social media accounts participated; posted nearly 50,000 news and articles and millions of interactions, comments and shares. Coordinated the handling of nearly 200 news, articles and social media accounts posting malicious, distorted and attacking information about the Anniversary.

At the local level, commemorative activities were carried out with rich and vivid content and forms, with many innovations and creativity, and aimed at the people.

Speaking at the conference, delegates said that the success of A8 activities was not only the result of careful preparation and professional organization, but also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of national solidarity and effective coordination between levels, sectors and localities. Delegates emphasized that the key to the success of the event was the sense of responsibility, determined, drastic and proactive participation from early on and from afar; close, flexible and creative coordination, and readiness for many response plans to all arising situations. Since then, A80 has left a deep impression in the hearts of the people, contributing to fostering trust, pride and aspiration for the development of a prosperous and happy country.

Promote propaganda, spread patriotism and aspiration to rise up

Concluding the conference, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Head of the Central Steering Committee acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended all ministries, branches and localities for excellently completing assigned tasks and successfully organizing the A80 activities. Reviewing the outstanding results, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu affirmed that the commemorative activities, especially key activities such as the commemoration ceremony, parade, march, scientific seminar, gratitude meetings of Party and State leaders with veteran cadres, meritorious people, and activities to care for people's lives have been organized solemnly, practically, and absolutely safely by the leaders, commensurate with the stature and historical significance of the event.

Besides, the event attracted the attention and participation of many people from all walks of life, spread widely at home and abroad and has truly become a great festival of the people, of the country and of our country.

Each program and activity demonstrates the spirit of innovation and creativity in thinking and working methods, combining tradition and modernity. Thereby, it strongly arouses patriotism, emotion, pride, national self-esteem, fosters the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant, contributes to educating revolutionary traditions, and spreads cultural and historical values ​​among the people, especially among today's young generation.

The commemorative propaganda work has been organized in many diverse and rich forms, truly oriented towards the people and the grassroots. So that the people can participate and enjoy together, creating a broad political and ideological movement throughout the Party and throughout society.

Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu welcomed the agencies assigned to preside over and coordinate the organization of key activities, which demonstrated a very high sense of responsibility, initiative, creativity, and excellent completion of assigned tasks. The agencies, units, and localities performing reception, logistics, technical, medical, and security and safety work for the commemorative activities were deployed in a very synchronous, methodical, thoughtful manner, and closely, promptly, and regularly coordinated at all levels and sectors from the central to local levels. The units participating in the parade and marching made efforts to overcome many difficulties, actively practiced and trained, and their serious spirit and unified discipline contributed to the overall success of the event.

From the success of the event, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu suggested that it is necessary to continue promoting propaganda and education on the tradition of patriotism, the revolutionary cultural and historical traditions of the Party and the nation. Continue to innovate thinking, improve the quality of advisory work and coordination between all levels and sectors, and link propaganda work to the tasks of Party building and rectification and the political system, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and expanding foreign relations and international integration.

Regarding some key tasks in the coming time, the Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu requested the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare well the conditions for the Conference to summarize the work of organizing the celebrations of major holidays and important historical events of the country in the three years 2023 - 2025. Timely develop and complete the project to organize the celebrations of major holidays and important historical events of the country in the period 2026 - 2030 to submit to the Politburo and the Secretariat for comments. In particular, it is noted that major holidays and important historical events of the country need to be carefully reviewed, with the right scale and level of celebration according to regulations, with many new, creative, practical, effective and people-oriented points. Each commemorative activity must contribute to consolidating the great national unity bloc, enhancing confidence, promoting resources, and creating new momentum in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Implementing the policy of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the country in the three years 2023 - 2025, the direction of the Standing Committee of the Central Party Secretariat, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations hosted the reception of international delegations attending the 80th Anniversary of August Revolution and National Day September 2 and chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies to organize a meeting to express gratitude to international friends of the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front.

The program takes place from August 31 to September 3 with activities including: welcoming the delegation to the Anniversary Ceremony; organizing a meeting to express gratitude to international friends; visiting the Vietnam History Museum; working in Quang Ninh province, visiting Ha Long Bay and 25 bilateral activities.

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations hosted more than 30 delegations including 82 international delegates from 25 countries and territories, who are typical individuals and representatives of people's organizations, friendship organizations, non-governmental organizations, friends and traditional partners of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations who have made many contributions to the cause of national liberation, national reunification and the cause of protecting, building and developing Vietnam.

The Meeting to honor international friends was solemnly held under the chairmanship of Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien. Co-chairs were Party Central Committee Secretary, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son.

The International Friends Gratitude Meeting was attended by more than 200 delegates, including about 120 international delegates and 100 Vietnamese delegates representing central agencies, Hanoi and the press. The program deeply expressed the gratitude of the Party, State and people of Vietnam to international friends, affirming the message of a humane, loyal, peace-loving Vietnam, a reliable partner and responsible member of the international community.

International friends expressed their emotion and honor to attend this important event of the Vietnamese people; expressed their admiration for Vietnam's strong development, and affirmed their continued solidarity and support for the cause of national construction and development. At the same time, delegates sent letters of congratulations and thanks to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for their warm welcome and the successful organization of this series of activities of special significance.
