The 2nd Danang Asian Film Festival will take place in July 2024.

The 2nd Danang Asian Film Festival with the theme "DANAFF - Asian Bridge" is scheduled to take place from July 2 to July 6, 2024.

According to the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang, DANAFF II was chosen to be held in early July instead of May like last year to avoid overlapping with other international film festivals.

DANAFF II still maintains the program framework of a professional Film Festival with Asian and Vietnamese films competing with valuable awards.

Besides, there is the Vietnam Cinema Today program introducing selected and newly produced Vietnamese films; a selected film program of Da Nang; a focus program on a country's cinema; a program introducing films by famous international guests.

Within the framework of the Film Festival, there will be activities: International seminars and talks; artist-audience exchanges; "Talent nurturing" workshop; visits to historical sites, scenic spots, promotion of filming locations...

The Opening and Closing Ceremony - Award Ceremony of the Film Festival at Trung Vuong Theater will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV) and relayed by Da Nang Television and other television stations across the country.

In particular, at this Film Festival, the Organizing Committee will present the Film Achievement Award to an outstanding filmmaker who has made many contributions to cinema. The Film Achievement Award will also be maintained annually.

DANAFF II has 3 Juries: Asian Film Jury, Vietnamese Film Jury and NETPAC Jury. Each Jury consists of experts, stars and famous filmmakers from Vietnam and internationally. The President of the Asian Film Jury is the French director and writer of Chinese origin - Dai Tu Kiet.

DANAFF is directed by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, chaired by the Vietnam Film Promotion and Development Association (VFDA), coordinated by the Department of Culture - Sports of Da Nang and related units.

This is a special cultural event to select and honor outstanding cinematographic works, rich in humanistic values, with new discoveries and unique artistic expressions. The film festival is also a place to encourage new talents of Vietnamese and Asian cinema; at the same time, widely introduce to the public new cinematographic works, with high value in content and art of Asian and Vietnamese cinema and selected films of world cinema.
