(CLO) For the first time, the "Stream of Desire" Animation Film Festival was held to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Animation industry (November 9, 1959).
On November 22, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA), the Sconnect International Animation Academy (SAMA) and the Vietnam Digital Content Creation Alliance (DCCA) in collaboration with the French Embassy in Vietnam organized the opening ceremony of the first "Stream of Aspiration" Animation Film Festival.
The festival takes place from November 8 to 30 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, with about 20 events and activities. Highlights include the Film Project Market; a tour to learn about the flow of Vietnamese animation; a free week of screenings of Vietnamese and French animated films; a series of parallel seminars; a business launch ceremony and the announcement ceremony of 4 “Make in Vietnam” animated film production projects...

A notable activity within the framework of the Festival is the “Animation Aspiration” award to honor outstanding talents and seek and explore new potential in the field of animation.
This award is given in 3 categories: Screenplay, Animated Character, Animated Film and 6 other awards: Potential Animated Feature Film Script, Potential Animated Series Script, Outstanding Animated Character Set, Potential Animated Character Set, Outstanding Animated Short Film, Outstanding Animated Series.
The festival also spends a considerable amount of time screening typical Vietnamese and French animated films for the public at four screening clusters.
Over the past few days, the screenings have attracted more than 1,000 audiences. This event not only helps promote creativity in the animation industry but also demonstrates the strong development potential of the industry, creating momentum for Vietnam to affirm its position in the regional and global animation market.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, Mr. Vu Kiem Van, Vice President and General Secretary of VDCA, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the first Animation Film Festival was held as an event marking a positive change in the Vietnamese animation industry.
Animation is a unique way of storytelling to promote Vietnamese culture, history and people closer to international friends.

Over the past 65 years, despite ups and downs, Vietnamese animation has remained steadfast in its aspiration to conquer new milestones, producing animated films Made in Vietnam.
Mr. Vu Kiem Van emphasized that the 20 events held within the framework of the Festival will be an opportunity for people to learn about the historical flow of Vietnamese animation, animation film making technology and the development trends of animation in the world.
According to the Organizing Committee, since its launch, the Animation Aspiration Award has attracted a large number of participants. After the selection process by the Jury, from more than 100 potential projects, 30 works were selected for the final round, of which 9 potential projects had the opportunity to present before the Jury Council at the final round on November 24.
The exhibition “Vietnam Animation Flow” is a space to display works with strong Vietnamese characteristics, allowing the public to admire typical works from each historical period, while also exploring new production techniques, from 2D, 3D, to Frame by Frame and Stopmotion.
