Launch of the Stream of Desire Animation Film Festival

(CLO) The "Stream of Desire" Animation Film Festival creates conditions for the development of potential projects, opening up international exchange opportunities for Vietnamese animation to shine with friends around the world.

On the evening of November 7, the "Timeless Animation Festival 2024" was launched in Hanoi .

This is the opening event for a series of activities celebrating the sustainable development journey of the Vietnamese animation industry. The event is hosted by the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and organized in coordination with the Sconnect International Animation Academy (SAMA) and the French Embassy in Vietnam.

Vietnamese animation has gone through 65 years of formation and development (1959 - 2024) with many significant changes, marking its maturity and constant creativity. From the early days when animation was still a new field, until now, Vietnamese animation has witnessed the birth of many talented film studios, quality animation products not only conquering the domestic market but also reaching out to the world .

According to the Organizing Committee, the first "Stream of Desire" Animation Film Festival with the theme "Vietnam Animation Flow" is organized on a large scale, with 20 events taking place in November in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The main event series will be held from November 22-24 at Vincom Center for Contemporary Art, Hanoi with many attractive and diverse activities.

In particular, the free animation screening program to celebrate 65 years of Vietnam's animation industry takes place from November 15 to 30 at cinema systems.

The ceremony to honor 65 years of Vietnam's animation industry will take place on November 22 at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Arts.

Here we introduce and display works with strong Vietnamese paintings from representative artists, introduce new works produced using many diverse techniques (2D, 3D, Frame by Frame, Stop-motion)...

On November 23, there will be two seminars on exploiting the potential of the Vietnamese animation industry market from domestic to global and the art of animation in the digital age with speakers from state management agencies, experts and artists.

The project market and tour to explore the flow of Vietnamese animation is held from November 22-24. This is where production units and independent filmmakers can introduce and exchange production ideas, and businesses outside the industry can connect with animation service providers using many production technologies.

Within the framework of the Festival, two enterprises, Sconnect Music and Sconnect Studio, will be launched, and three animated film production projects for theatrical release “Make in Vietnam” will be announced, titled: “The Legend of the Taurus”, “Wolfoo and the Race of the Three Realms” and “Blank Blank Ceramic Warrior” will be launched on the evening of November 24.

"Trang Quynh in his childhood" is a film with strong Vietnamese identity that is loved by children.

In particular, from November 15 to November 30, major cinema systems in Hanoi will screen excellent animated films for free, including award-winning works from Vietnam Animation Studio, Sconnect, Alpha Studio, and films provided by the French Embassy.

A notable activity is the Timeless Animation Award. The award is held to honor outstanding talents and to seek and explore new potential in the field of animation. The award includes 3 categories: Script, animated characters, and animated films.
