Continuous relief shipments from Mining land to flood-hit Lam Dong

This is the fourth relief shipment from the people of the Mining Land, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and deep mutual love to the people in the areas affected by storms and floods.

The activities were carried out urgently and seriously, promptly concretizing the Politburo 's direction on localities providing direct support and aid to provinces that suffered heavy damage due to floods.

Immediately after the direction of the Politburo, the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee quickly established working groups, mobilizing all resources from the budget, businesses, and people to support Lam Dong, with cash and hundreds of tons of necessities and medical supplies.

Mr. Ly Van Thanh, Chairman of the Red Cross Society of Quang Ninh province, said: In the first emergency support phase, the Society prioritized mobilizing and supporting food, clean water, medicine and medical supplies, household cleaning items, and student living and studying services. The shipments of goods from Quang Ninh province were delivered very promptly, meeting the needs of the people after the flood receded. In order for Lam Dong people to soon stabilize their lives and move to phase 2, the Society plans to support items to help rebuild their lives and production.

According to Mr. Thanh, the relevant agencies will continue to report to the province, survey Lam Dong province about the needs in the next phase, from there ask for instructions to calculate the support for production recovery for the people. Up to now, Quang Ninh has been transporting about 400 tons of goods to Lam Dong. On November 27 alone, more than 30 tons of goods were transported and 80 tons will depart that same evening.

The movement to support Lam Dong people has spread strongly among all classes of people in Quang Ninh, creating a beautiful image of the spirit of "the rich help the poor". The image of trucks loaded with relief goods, along with the enthusiasm of volunteers, including the elderly, is the clearest proof.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong (68 years old), Yet Kieu quarter, Hong Gai ward, not only directly supported with material but also participated in loading and unloading at the goods gathering point from the very beginning.

“The love and support for our fellow countrymen affected by the flood is immense. We are old and weak and cannot go to Lam Dong, so we are here to contribute. Since the province called for help, many uncles and aunts in the neighborhood, even though we are in our sixties and seventies, have been present to help load and unload goods, sort necessities, and donate money. Seeing the goods loaded onto the truck and the hearts of our people being transferred, I feel very warm inside. I hope these small gifts will help the people of Lam Dong overcome the disaster soon,” Mr. Truong emotionally shared.

Quang Ninh's timely and practical support not only helps reduce difficulties, but also adds great spiritual strength to help Lam Dong people firmly overcome natural disasters, soon stabilize production, and rebuild their lives.

Currently, Quang Ninh province's volunteer clubs still have a large amount of goods and relief supplies, but arranging transportation is still difficult. Quang Ninh province continues to balance so that the hearts of the people in the Mining area will reach the people of Lam Dong as soon as possible. Everyone firmly believes that the people in the flooded areas will soon stabilize their lives.
