The meals prepared by the industrial catering unit included: fried orange fish with fish sauce, boiled white cabbage and sour soup with bean sprouts and okra. After examination and treatment, 36 cases with stable health were sent home for monitoring; 24 cases continued to be hospitalized for treatment, with stable condition.
On the same day, the Emergency Department of Thu Duc Regional General Hospital admitted 19 students from a high school in Thu Duc Ward with suspected anaphylaxis due to food. Of these, 17 students with mild anaphylaxis (grade 1) were treated and sent home; two cases of grade 2 anaphylaxis were hospitalized for close monitoring.
Immediately after receiving the cases, the two hospitals promptly reported the incident to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (HCDC) as required. The authorities are continuing to verify and clarify the cause.
In November, Ho Chi Minh City recorded three suspected cases of food poisoning with a large number of infected people. Previously, on November 11, hospitals in the area admitted 50 workers of a company in Dong Hung Thuan ward for suspected food poisoning. In addition, the poisoning case related to toad bread that caused more than 300 people to be hospitalized has also been completed by the authorities.
