The divine dragon in Quang Tri
Artisan Dinh Van Tam (34 years old, residing in Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province) - the father of the tiger and cat mascots that caused a stir in previous years - continued to be ordered by the People's Committee of Lao Bao town (Huong Hoa district) to make a dragon mascot to decorate the 2024 Giap Thin New Year.
After three months of construction, the mascot was officially completed. The dragon is about 4.5 m tall; its winding body is 7 m long; its total weight is about 500 kg. At the foot of the statue is a golden ball, symbolizing the fortune that the dragon brings to the people.
To complete the mascot, the team of craftsmen used plastic for scales, iron bars surrounded by mesh for the body, and the belly was made of plaster. The parts were meticulously designed, with an eye-catching golden color.

Dragons are criticized for looking like... worms.
