The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway project through Dong Nai is 27km long. Of which, the 3.5km section through the mangrove forest is under urgent construction and is expected to be completed this July.
The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway plays an important role in connecting the provinces and cities in the southern region, contributing to promoting trade and economic development in the region. This route possesses majestic natural landscapes, especially the section passing through the mangrove forest area. The project has a total length of more than 57km, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway passes through Long An , Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City. Of which, the section passing through Dong Nai is about 27km long, including 3 packages: A5, A6 and A7. It is known that package A7 is considered the most complicated of the project due to the terrain of many rivers and swamps. In mid-July, workers are rushing to complete the final items in package A7, including asphalt paving, anti-glare panels, road markings, traffic signs, etc. Mr. Nguyen Thien Dat, Executive Director of this package, said that the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway has about 3.5km passing through the mangrove forest in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts of Dong Nai province. "Currently, the construction progress of this package has reached more than 95%, the contractor as well as the investor are determined to strive to complete this entire package in July," Mr. Dat shared. According to Mr. Dat, the total investment for this entire package is more than 1,100 billion VND, of which more than 720 billion is for Thi Vai bridge and the overpass. The bridge construction process encountered many difficulties, the drill bit broke many times, so the cost increased. The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway is over 57km long, with an investment capital of over VND31,300 billion. The expressway started construction in 2014 and was expected to be completed in 5 years, but construction was temporarily suspended until mid-2023 due to mechanism problems. Currently, the expressway is under construction again and is expected to be completed in September 2025.
