On the afternoon of June 26, the handover ceremony of the Vietnam Exhibition Center, with the main items being Kim Quy Exhibition Hall and the Outdoor Exhibition Area, between Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center Joint Stock Company - a member of Vingroup and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially took place in Dong Hoi Commune (Dong Anh, Hanoi). This is where the Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition will take place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 5, 2025.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for the Exhibition of Socio -Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, highly appreciated the efforts of Vingroup Corporation in the past time, seriously implementing the Prime Minister's instructions with the spirit of turning the impossible into possible. Thanks to that, the project has been constructed at lightning speed, so far exceeding the set schedule.
“This is not only a project of technical and spatial value, but also a cultural project of special significance, worthy of regional and world stature – a symbol of the spirit of innovation, development and aspiration to rise in the new era,” Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh affirmed.
This world-leading national exhibition infrastructure project is considered a “record” in terms of progress, having been completed in less than 10 months of lightning-fast construction with outstanding results in terms of progress, quality, technique and aesthetics.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said: “We are very touched that the Group's leaders shared and were willing to invite experienced international consultants to jointly develop the overall design, coordination, and operation of the exhibition, even during the exhibition. This is an unprecedented task that can only be done quickly and effectively through the cooperation of businesses. Vingroup has made a silent contribution to the country."
The two key items handed over include the Kim Quy Exhibition House and the Outdoor Exhibition Area. Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his gratitude for the tireless efforts of Vingroup Corporation “ to have a project of great stature and in the top 10 in the world in terms of area and scale, in terms of architecture and design”.
Vietnam Exhibition Center has a total area of nearly 900,000 m², planned as an integrated complex including: indoor exhibition area, outdoor exhibition area, conference center, wedding reception and space for organizing large-scale cultural and artistic events.
The most prominent is the Kim Quy Exhibition House - a cultural and architectural symbol associated with the legend of the Kim Quy god of Co Loa land. This is the largest circular exhibition house in the world, with a floor area of over 104,863 m² and a height of 56m. The project consists of 9 halls, each hall has an area of 9,400-10,400 m², which can be operated flexibly: separated according to each theme or connected to form the second largest exhibition space in the world.
Kim Quy Exhibition Hall has a modern technical structure with a dome roof using up to 24,000 tons of steel, with a safety factor twice the normal standard. The roof material is super durable, translucent, energy-saving and environmentally friendly fiberglass - meeting global green building standards.
Kim Quy Exhibition Hall has a floor load of up to 5 tons/m2, meeting the requirements of industrial exhibitions, ensuring conditions for displaying large equipment and machinery.
The outdoor exhibition area covers an area of over 200,000 m², ranking in the top 3 in the world in terms of scale. This area is designed for many types of simultaneous organization, from technology and machinery exhibitions to large-scale cultural and tourism festivals. In particular, the North Stadium is capable of organizing large music festivals with a capacity of up to 50,000 spectators, ready for international concerts in the future.
Vingroup said that the entire Vietnam Exhibition Center complex is being urgently completed according to the requirements of the Steering Committee and will be handed over on July 15, 2025, to ensure complete infrastructure for the Socio-Economic Achievement Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
Upon completion, the Vietnam Exhibition Center will become a destination for global events, international convention centers, art festivals and cultural exchanges. From here, a new era of the modern exhibition industry will be launched, similar to successful models in many countries around the world, contributing to transforming soft capacity into economic strength, enhancing the position of Hanoi and Vietnam on the regional and international map.
