Mr. Huan said that late on the night of September 14, he observed that the mother horse Cham (a purebred Beigium Draught) showed signs of labor, starting to be restless, sweating, walking around a lot, then lying down with her head turned towards her belly and continuously... biting her belly. He mobilized all the staff and doctors of the Care Department, ready to be on duty to support the mother horse's birthing process.

“Everyone was very nervous because this was the first time we had assisted in the “delivery” of a rare horse breed with such a large physique, so even though we had carefully prepared every plan, everything was quite stressful,” Mr. Huan recalled.

After biting her belly, the mother horse writhed and pushed for more than an hour. At times, mother Cham showed signs of psychological panic, and the care team had to constantly reassure her. After moments of holding their breath waiting, everyone finally burst into tears when baby horse Yagi was officially born, staggering to find her mother's milk. Before they could rejoice, the care team discovered that the mother horse refused to let her foal suckle, and the foal showed signs of weakness. The team of doctors and staff quickly stepped in. It took many hours of training and patient guidance for "baby" Yagi to enjoy the first streams of mother's milk.

Just a few days old, Yagi is already completely healthy, very active and close to everyone. The “horse baby” often runs around exploring the barn, curious about everything and seems happy when being petted and cuddled by the uncles and aunts at the Academy.
