Long An promotes international cooperation, welcomes investment wave from Europe

Working with Sweco Group (Belgium) on Economic Corridor Planning along Provincial Road 827E

On the morning of November 28, at the headquarters of the Department of Planning and Investment of Long An province, the leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment held a reception and working session with Sweco Group (Belgium) and HD Capital Company (HCMC) to study and discuss cooperation opportunities in the field of planning and infrastructure development . Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and localities.

At the meeting, the leader of the Department of Planning and Investment informed: Provincial Road 827E is one of the six important driving axes of the province, connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Long An and Tien Giang with a total length of about 35km. This route is not only important in connecting the region but is also expected to create a breakthrough in traffic infrastructure, promote the local economy and improve the quality of life of the people; therefore, the province needs an experienced consulting unit to study and plan along both sides of the route.

In addition, issues related to urban planning, industrial zones and the environment were also discussed with the goal of ensuring sustainable and environmentally friendly development.

The two sides also agreed to closely coordinate in reviewing related plans and conducting field surveys to come up with planning ideas for the province as soon as possible.

Cooperation with John Cockerill Group: Orientation for sustainable energy development

Continuing investment promotion activities , on December 2, Long An province worked with John Cockerill Group Asia-Pacific region to implement cooperation contents after the meeting during the working trip to Belgium.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment provided more information about the province's outstanding potential in energy development and proposed strategic cooperation directions, including research and development of biomass materials, inviting the Group to invest in an electrolysis plant project in the Industrial Park near Long An International Port.

In addition, Long An also proposed the idea of signing a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a long-term cooperation foundation with John Cockerill in the energy sector.

John Cockerill Group Asia Pacific Chairman Jean Gourp said that the Group's senior leaders highly appreciated the positive results from the working session with the Long An Provincial Delegation in Belgium. He affirmed that the Group is fully willing and committed to closely coordinating to promote the cooperation agreements to become reality. To ensure feasibility, he also suggested that Long An provide more detailed information about potential projects and organize field surveys.

The parties pledged to promote the cooperation agreements to become reality.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to maintain regular exchanges and arrange a business trip for the John Cockerill Group to Long An in the following weeks. This is expected to be an important premise to promote the cooperation signing process, opening up many new development opportunities in the field of sustainable energy.

Not stopping at the working sessions with Sweco and John Cockerill, the province will continue to promote meetings and work with leading German corporations to attract high-tech projects. The consecutive working sessions with international partners have affirmed Long An's determination to integrate and anticipate investment trends from Europe.
