At Pakse station (Laos), the water level is rising, at 7:00 a.m. on September 16, it reached 10.8 m; at Stung Treng station (Cambodia), the water level is rising, at 7:00 a.m. this morning it reached 9.06 m; Kratie station (Cambodia) is also rising, at 19.34 m; Phnom Penh Port station (Cambodia) is reaching 6.15 m and rising; Phnom Penh Bassac station (Cambodia) is reaching 7.4 m and rising.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the water level at the headwaters of the Mekong River is rising rapidly, with the highest water level at 7:00 a.m. on September 16 on the Tien River at Tan Chau station being 2.52m, and on the Hau River at Chau Doc being 2.41m.

Warning in the coming days, due to upstream floods combined with high tides, the water level at the headwaters of the Mekong River will continue to rise rapidly. By September 21-22, the highest water level at Tan Chau station, Chau Doc is likely to rise above alert level 1 by 0.1-0.2m, then change slowly.

There is a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas, and areas outside the dykes in An Giang , Dong Thap, Long An provinces and low-lying areas, riverside areas in the downstream provinces of the Mekong River. Be careful of landslides and weak dykes in flooded areas.
