On the morning of June 17, at the National Military Training Center 4, for the first time, the military and police parades participated in a comprehensive training session to prepare for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the comprehensive training inspection. Also attending were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; representatives of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering and agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security .
The training session was attended by more than 15,000 officers and soldiers in two main parts: the ceremonial part led by the Ministry of National Defense and the parade and marching part of the forces. According to the Organizing Committee, this year's formation has 18 standing groups and 43 walking groups, including 7 female Army groups and 2 female Police groups, demonstrating the mettle and maturity of women in the People's Armed Forces. Notably, after 40 years (since 1985), in the parade formation through the historic Ba Dinh Square, there appeared a block of military equipment and special police vehicles, demonstrating the continuous growth of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces under the leadership of the Party over the past 80 years. With the significance and magnitude of the event, over the past time, the agencies and units of the Army and Police have thoroughly grasped, seriously implemented, and closely organized the centralized training of the parade groups participating in the Anniversary Ceremony. The units have selected comrades who are exemplary in political qualities, lifestyle ethics, and sense of organization and discipline; and who meet the standards of height, appearance, and health to participate in kite flying and parades. This parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day will be the largest ever with all components: the walking force, the motorized force, the air force in the sky and especially the naval force at sea with submarines, surface ships of the Navy, Coast Guard, Border Guard and the standing militia fleet. Images of the parade at sea will be broadcast live to Ba Dinh Square, creating a new, lively and modern highlight. The morning practice session on July 17 is an important step in preparation for the preliminary and final rehearsals leading up to the 80th National Day Celebration on September 2, a great national holiday.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Nguyen Tan Cuong commended the sense of responsibility, results and achievements that the participating forces have achieved in the recent past, especially when the training, joint training and combined training all took place in harsh weather conditions.
