Research topics have high applicability
Tran Le Hoang Thang, majoring in Business Data Analytics, Faculty of Applied Sciences , International School - Vietnam National University (VNU) Hanoi, is one of 100 excellent valedictorians honored by Hanoi City on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
In the list of achievements, Thang has won many awards and honorable titles such as: being directly admitted to the International School - VNU Hanoi and being exempted from 100% of tuition fees for 4 years of study. Thang also won a scholarship and represented the school to participate in the Singapore National University startup program...
In addition, Hoang Thang also won many other titles: Second Prize in the Finals of the "VNUIS 2021 Innovative Startup Ideas" Contest; Third Prize at the National level of the "National Startup Festival for Students" Contest; Champion of VNUIS Student Ambassador 2023 - Integration Ambassador with the project: "Protecting Generation Z on digital platforms"...
Participating in many competitions and winning many titles, the most memorable journey for the Hanoi student was the 2022 startup and innovation competition. Thang and his team came up with the idea of transforming advertising from simply pushing information in the style of mass advertising to attracting customers by focusing on the content that customers are interested in, helping businesses reach the right target and sell products.
The group is made up of students, with little experience, but with the desire and determination to win the prize and have a product, Thang and his friends have researched and learned a lot from companies in the market. At the same time, with the help of teachers, Thang's group has learned a lot of technical knowledge as well as the ability to build relationships to create the desired product.
The team gamified the ads, making them more engaging, attracting users to interact with the ads and understand more about the brand; at the same time, there were rewards to stimulate demand and increase the number of customers buying the product.
With the high applicability of the project, Hoang Thang's team won the third prize at the National level in the "National Startup Festival for Students" competition. "The project has been approved for investment by Shark Lien and is in the process of completing the documents" - Hoang Thang revealed.
The title of valedictorian is an "unexpected reward"
Sharing the secret to achieving high academic achievements, Hoang Thang said that he never set a goal to become valedictorian and "this is an unexpected reward after 4 years of studying". However, to achieve the results he has today, Thang has given his number 1 priority to studying.
"The important thing to achieve a goal is to understand what components are needed to get there and what small steps you need to achieve. For example, if you want to get a scholarship on innovation, you need to cultivate knowledge related to startups, marketing, understanding the market, and understanding business finance," Hoang Thang shared.
Despite his "huge" academic achievements, Thang also has many movement activities to balance school knowledge and real life experiences through participating in group activities such as: volunteering, environmental protection or humanitarian relief, charity...

"The key to balance is the ability to schedule and organize. Everyone should set goals, whether long or short, but strive for them in every moment, in every little thing we do. When we do a good job, the goal on each journey, the final result is the result of our efforts in the little moments" - Hoang Thang contemplated.
Take advantage of every moment to learn...
