The 2nd Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2023 with the theme Discovering Hanoi's beauty will take place from October 27-29 in the walking space around Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas.

The program is expected to bring a unique cultural and heritage destination and become an annual tourism product of Hanoi in the fall.

According to Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Nguyen Hong Minh, the 2023 Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival aims to develop and promote Hanoi tourism in conjunction with promoting Vietnam tourism; continue to strongly promote the recovery and development of other industries and fields; preserve and develop traditional cultural values of the nation; exploit and honor the traditional Ao Dai of the Vietnamese people as a source of creativity, a product of unique, attractive and effective types of tourism; create opportunities for promotion, introduction, exchange, and cooperation for mutual development between Hanoi's tourism businesses and Ao Dai artisans and fashion designers.

The 2nd Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2023 with the theme "Discovering the beauty of Hanoi" takes place from October 27-29.

As the program's artistic advisor, director Dang Le Minh Tri shared his wish that the ao dai image would become a "tourism ambassador" for Hanoi in this program:

"Bringing Ao Dai to connect tourism with Hanoi's heritage is the right direction, containing many values. In fact, this is also part of the inspiration for the creative team to build this festival program.

Hanoi tourism has great potential and potential if there is a way to create attraction, including connecting Ao Dai with its own heritage. I hope this festival will be a good starting point, creating a deep impression for everyone when remembering Hanoi not only because of its thousand-year-old historical and cultural sediments but also because of the beauty that has gathered, becoming an unforgettable mark like Ao Dai."

The male director commented: "I think this is a very meaningful activity, which can completely inspire young people. Being able to wear costumes that carry the national spirit is something to be truly proud of.

In this festival, we also invited many young designers, using their own creative language to help the ao dai become a bridge for interaction between generations.

On a more general level, I would like to mention the concept of “cultural industry”. We take steps to have this industry from activities such as the Ao Dai festival.

Youthful and vibrant activities with the colors of the times will connect young people so that they can together promote the spirit of inheriting and developing love for their homeland through the beauty of traditional culture.

He added that the most unique and different point of the 2023 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival is the community Ao Dai street with the theme of Walking around Hoan Kiem Lake. On Dinh Tien Hoang Street, the community Ao Dai street recreates a part of the long-standing cultural and historical values of the capital such as: Craft village models, West Lake lotus, One Pillar Pagoda, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Quan Chuong Gate...

Coming here, people and tourists will review the history of the thousand-year-old capital and feel more deeply the beauty and value of the ao dai.
