Mbappe risks missing the opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.

With less than 24 hours to go, Real Madrid will face Al Hilal in their opening match of the season at Hard Rock Stadium. However, bad news has struck "Los Blancos" as Kylian Mbappe will not be training due to a fever.

The French star woke up showing clear signs of fatigue on the morning of June 17th. Doctors immediately examined him and determined he had an acute fever. Therefore, Mbappe was forced to miss the final training session before the crucial match.

Mbappe has not been ruled out of the squad list, but his chances of playing are currently considered "low". Mbappe's condition will continue to be monitored, and the final decision will be made based on the player's own fitness and feelings.

According to the initial plan, Mbappe was to start alongside Vinicius in the 4-4-2 formation that coach Xabi Alonso is experimenting with. However, if the situation doesn't improve, he will most likely be named on the substitutes list, or worse, be absent altogether.

Notably, Real Madrid currently lacks a true striker due to Endrick's injury. Coach Xabi Alonso has to consider rotating the squad with young players like Gonzalo.

Real Madrid entered the match with only one goal: to win. As for Mbappe, whether he would even be able to play remained a big question mark.
