Traveling to PSV's field in the third round of the Champions League, Napoli under the leadership of coach Antonio Conte entered the game with confidence and quickly opened the score in the 31st minute thanks to Scott McTominay. However, that was the starting point for a nightmare for the Serie A team.

Within just a few minutes of the first half, PSV scored two goals - an own goal by Buongiorno in the 35th minute and an accurate finish by Saibari in the 38th minute.

In the second half, the home team played explosively. Dennis Man increased the score to 3-1 in the 54th minute, opening the way for a real "destruction". Napoli lost a man in the 76th minute when Lucca received a red card, and that was the end of all hope.

In the last 10 minutes, PSV scored three more goals thanks to Man (80'), Pepi (87') and Driouech (89'). In between, McTominay only managed to pull back an honorary goal in the 86th minute.

In the end, PSV crushed Napoli with a score of 6-2, in a match where the Serie A representative completely collapsed before the fiery attack of the Dutch team.
