PSG's dominance over Inter Miami was predictable. However, their goals came from fairly simple situations. Inter Miami's defense was too immature to cope with the French team's attacking solutions.
The goal came to PSG in the 6th minute. From the free kick, Vitinha sent the ball precisely to the far corner so that a player with a modest height like Joao Neves could easily head the ball from close range.
The French team's game made it difficult for Inter Miami players. After only 19 minutes, center back Allen had to leave the field due to injury. Messi rarely left his own half when his teammates could not provide him with the ball.
After a few minutes of complacency, PSG began to accelerate at the end of the first half and scored consecutive goals. In the 39th minute, an Inter Miami defender fumbled the ball right outside the penalty area. PSG quickly deployed and Fabian Ruiz escaped into the open space. The Spaniard crossed for Joao Neves to complete his double.
In the 44th minute, Aviles put the ball into his own net after a not-so-dangerous cross from Doue. Not stopping there, in the 45+3 minute, a defender like Hakimi, in a situation where he penetrated the penalty area, also scored an easy goal from close range.
Scoring 4 goals in the first half, PSG played slowly and leisurely in the second half. Thanks to that, Inter Miami had space to attack.
Messi was the central factor, constantly being pressed with the ball. He was ready to break through and caused many difficulties for the PSG defense. However, Messi did not receive good support from his teammates. Even Luis Suarez was no longer sharp and often made mistakes.
As a result, the Argentine star was almost helpless and alone. He had two shots on target, but both were in difficult positions and could not defeat goalkeeper Donnarumma.
In the 89th minute, he was awarded a free kick in a dangerous position but could not get the ball over the wall. In a day of hard work but deadlock, Messi and Inter Miami said goodbye to the FIFA Club World Cup with a 0-4 loss to PSG.
