Legendary South American football duo Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have officially taken their close friendship from the football pitch to the business world by co-owning a new football club called Deportivo LSM.
Messi and Suarez have played together and won numerous trophies at Barca. They are currently teammates at Inter Miami in the MLS (USA). They will also compete together in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Deportivo LSM is a club based in Ciudad de la Costa, in the Canelones region of Uruguay. The club was formerly known as Deportivo LS, founded by Suarez in 2021. In May 2025, Messi officially joined as a co-owner. This led to the club being renamed Deportivo LSM.

Deportivo LSM's men's team competes in Divisional D, which is the fourth tier of Uruguayan football. The women's team competes in Divisional B.
In terms of facilities, Deportivo LSM owns the LS complex with many training grounds. In addition, a modern sports complex called Ciudad Deportiva LS is also under construction, promising to provide advanced facilities including a standard 11-a-side football pitch and a private stadium.
"Deportivo LS has been my dream since 2018. I want to give the best opportunities and playing conditions to players in my homeland - Uruguay," said Suarez.
