Messi dominates the US jersey market
"Messi's appeal is spreading more and more in the US, even increasing over time. At the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, people always see this famous player present on big TV screens in stadiums promoting many products.
This shows why Messi's popularity in the US has not decreased. MLS is also benefiting greatly, the league has just announced that Messi's shirt sales will continue to rank No. 1 in 2025," the US-based Spanish newspaper AS said on June 19.

Messi and his close friend Suarez lead the list of 2025 MLS jersey sales. Along with them, two other Inter Miami players, Sergio Busquets and, somewhat surprisingly, young star Benjamin Cremaschi (who stepped up to replace Jordi Alba), also made the top 25, ranking 16th and 23rd respectively.
Inter Miami is one of two clubs, along with Seattle Sounders FC, who are also competing in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™, to have the most players on the list of MLS 2025 jersey sales (all four players). Also on the list, behind Messi and Suarez, are three players: Miguel Almiron (Atlanta United), Hirving Lozano (San Diego FC) and Darlington Nagbe (Columbus Crew).
Messi's shirt sales revenue is huge, so MLS and Inter Miami's board of directors are negotiating to extend the player's contract for another 2 years, until after the 2026 World Cup.

Among them, Inter Miami Club President David Beckham and billionaire Jorge Mas, co-owners of the Miami-based team, are hopeful that Messi will continue to play for the team. In the immediate future, they expect the famous player and Inter Miami to launch the new, ultra-modern Miami Freedom Park stadium (expected to open in March 2026).
David Beckham recently visited Miami Freedom Park and was really excited. He wrote on his Instagram account: "Our beautiful new home is taking shape. For me, Jorge and Jose Mas (co-owners of Inter Miami), our dream for the team is coming true. Miami Freedom Park… is coming soon."
