According to Neowin , the initiative includes several different steps. First, a number of free courses are available on LinkedIn, and Microsoft will issue career certifications in generative AI to those who complete the courses.
Microsoft offers free training and certification of AI skills globally
The LinkedIn course offers a professional certificate upon completion of six modules. Courses include: What is Generative AI?; Generative AI: The Evolution of Online Search; Streamline Your Work with Microsoft Bing Chat; A First Look at Microsoft 365 Copilot; Ethics in the Age of Generative AI; and Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.
In addition to offering these new courses, Microsoft also decided to launch another program, called the Generative AI Skills Challenge, to look for solutions to help train the workforce in generative AI.
In addition to financial support, participants will receive access to the Experience Team, Microsoft events, Azure-based cloud computing resources, as well as data training and technical guidance from Microsoft and GitHub experts.
Microsoft said it believes AI has the potential to do a lot of good for humanity, but to achieve this, people need to have the skills to use AI effectively and ethically.
