Central Highlands: Nearly 100% of rural households have electricity

DNVN - At a press meeting on June 12, the leader of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) said that up to now, EVNCPC has provided national grid electricity to 100% of communes, wards, villages and hamlets.

According to Mr. Ngo Tan Cu - General Director of EVNCPC, in the first 5 months of 2025, the Corporation ensures safe and continuous power supply to serve socio-economic development, meet people's living needs, serve political , social, cultural events... in the Central - Central Highlands region.

EVNCPC brings electricity to villages and hamlets in the Central Highlands.

EVNCPC's maximum capacity in the past 5 months reached 4,092 MW (June 3), up 1.85% over the same period (4,017.8 MW) and down 0.7% compared to the maximum capacity in 2024 (4,120.8 MW). Commercial electricity reached 10,650 billion kWh, up 3.38% over the same period in 2024. Actual power loss was 3.24%, 0.84% ​​better than the same period in 2024 (4.08%).

The average customer outage duration (SAIDI) on EVNCPC's distribution grid is 60.02 minutes/customer, 19.79% better than the same period last year. The index of electricity access time continues to improve, reaching 1.7 days/project, 5.3 days/project faster than the regulation (7 days/project).

EVNCPC also communicated, guided and supported customers to make non-cash payments at a rate of 99.99%, an increase of 0.04% over the same period in 2024 and 4.99% higher than the plan. The rate of electricity services with costs paid non-cash reached 100%. The direct retail rate reached 97.68%, 0.14% higher than the same period in 2024 (97.54%).

Up to now, EVNCPC has supplied national grid electricity to 100% of communes, wards, villages and hamlets with more than 99.91% of households having electricity; of which the number of rural households having electricity reached 99.86%. In the past 5 months, EVNCPC has completed and put into use 131 projects, contributing to ensuring stable and reliable electricity supply for loads and customers in the region.

From the welfare fund, mutual support, production and business and the contributions of more than 11,000 officers and employees of the Corporation, from the beginning of 2025 to now, EVNCPC has also supported more than 4.36 billion VND for social security activities such as caring for and supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; supporting the construction of gratitude houses, solidarity houses, houses for the poor, eliminating temporary houses, dilapidated houses; implementing projects to light up rural roads.

Mr. Ngo Tan Cu said that EVNCPC will mobilize all resources to ensure safe and reliable operation of the power system, minimize power outages, and meet people's needs during the hot season of 2025.

During hot weather days (temperatures rise above 36 degrees Celsius), EVNCPC stops all work on the grid that may cause power outages to customers; increases the on-duty force to promptly handle incidents if any, minimizing the time of power outages for customers.

At the same time, closely monitor and promptly handle overloaded lines, transformer stations, low-voltage circuit breakers, etc. due to sudden increases in load during hot days to safely operate equipment.
