A Mitsubishi dealer in the Central region has just announced that it is accepting deposits for the DST Concept model – expected to be named Destinator. Customers interested in the Mitsubishi Destinator only need to deposit 10 million VND in advance to reserve their spot to receive the car early. In case they no longer need it, they will receive a 100% refund.
The expected selling price of this model is announced at under 800 million VND, significantly lower than the Outlander (price from 825 million VND). This makes many people expect Destinator to create a fever similar to the Xforce model, which achieved impressive results right from its launch.
The commercial version of the Mitsubishi DST Concept is expected to officially debut globally on July 17 in Indonesia. In Vietnam, it may be launched in late November or early December 2025.
Based on the revealed dimensions, Destinator will be located between Xforce and Pajero Sport, aiming at the gap when Outlander no longer has a new version in Vietnam. The car is aimed at the cheap 7-seat CUV segment, suitable for family needs.
Mitsubishi Destinator will likely use the same 1.5L MIVEC engine as the Xforce. However, Vietnamese customers expect the model to be equipped with a turbocharger to improve power. The car is expected to be equipped with front-wheel drive only.
In addition, a hybrid powertrain option consisting of a 1.6L engine (95 horsepower, 134 Nm) combined with an electric motor (116 horsepower, 255 Nm) is also being considered by the company.
In terms of equipment, Destinator promises spacious 3-row seats, 5 driving modes, tire sensors and ADAS safety technology . With an attractive price, this could be a worthy choice in the mid-range SUV/CUV segment.
