Within the framework of the program, managers and teachers are also guided to apply the Mizuiku document set with teaching and learning methods about water resources approved by the Ministry of Education and Training to be included in the official curriculum for primary schools nationwide.

Through the training, teachers are not only updated with knowledge about saving and protecting water resources, but are also equipped with methods to integrate environmentaleducation content into lectures in a lively, accessible and age-appropriate way for each student.

Spreading positive impact across the country

Since the beginning of 2025, more than 2,000 teachers in provinces such as Can Tho, Bac Ninh, Ben Tre and Lang Son have participated in Mizuiku training, aiming to spread knowledge and actions to protect water resources to about 230,000 primary school students nationwide.

Initiated in 2015, the “Mizuiku - I love clean water” program is an environmental education initiative launched by Suntory Group, with Vietnam being the first country outside of Japan to implement it. To date, the program has reached nearly 1 million students, 16,000 teachers and built and renovated 186 clean water facilities in 63 provinces and cities across the country.

In 2023, the program will be officially approved by the Ministry of Education and Training for teaching in the primary school curriculum - an important step affirming the sustainability and long-term nature of the initiative.

Ms. Nguyen Le Thao An, Head of External Relations, Project Manager of "Mizuiku - I love clean water" shared: "With more than 30 years of presence and development in Vietnam, Suntory PepsiCo has not only maintained its leading position in the beverage industry, but also pioneered in promoting sustainable development activities. Through the power of education, the company aims to build the Mizuiku program to not only educate about water resources but also for water resources."

At Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam, sustainable development is the guiding principle in all activities, with a long-term strategy focusing on 6 main pillars including creating positive impacts on water resources; reducing greenhouse gas emissions; promoting sustainable packaging; taking care of consumer and employee health; creating a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) environment; enriching community life. In which, protecting water resources is identified as a top priority.

As a company closely associated with water resources, Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam continuously implements many initiatives to effectively use, conserve and regenerate water resources to ensure sustainability for future generations. At factories, the company applies a modern water circulation model to minimize water consumption in production.

In parallel, this leading beverage company has also coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to implement the program “Conserve water resources - For a green Vietnam” from 2024 to plant upstream forests, restore ecosystems, conserve water resources and absorb carbon. This initiative not only contributes to the regeneration of natural resources but also supports improving the livelihoods of people in the implementation areas.
