Specify economic development goals and orientations
Right from the beginning of the term, local Party committees and authorities have specified economic development goals and orientations, developed specialized resolutions on economic development, and focused on directing the implementation of plans close to actual conditions each year.
Comrade Nguyen Huy Du - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee said: The 7th Congress of the Commune Party Committee, term 2020-2025, set out 11 groups of targets on building the political system and socio-economic development. In particular, the economic targets set out: average income per capita reaching 35 million VND/person/year; total cultivated area of 800 hectares; total grain output of 3,500 tons; average food of 432 kg/person/year; reducing the poverty rate by 4% each year...
To specify the goals and orientations for economic development, Ban Lang commune has built many branded and OCOP-certified products. (In the photo: People of Ban Lang commune introduce OCOP-certified agricultural products)
Closely following each set target, the commune focuses on directing, propagating, and mobilizing people to change the structure of agricultural and forestry production, converting ineffective land areas to grow tea, cinnamon, taro, and arrowroot; applying scientific and technical advances to production. Promoting the implementation of agricultural and forestry extension programs. Directing the development of livestock and poultry farming in a semi-industrial direction, gradually proactively providing safe breeds and feed; paying attention to disease prevention and control, and cold prevention.
Mr. Lu A Sy in Then Thau village shared: Being guided and encouraged by the commune and village officials in finding a direction for economic development, in 2017, realizing that the construction demand in the area was increasing, I boldly borrowed money from my brothers and with the available capital, invested in buying an excavator to do business. I excavated for hire for people in the village at a price of 160,000 VND/hour. I also invested in building a barn to raise 15-20 buffaloes (in the form of fattening) and 400 super egg ducks, 200 chickens, 3,500m2 of ponds to raise various types of fish. I actively participated in livestock training courses organized by the commune and went to families that were doing effective economic activities from livestock to learn from their experiences and then summarized them into my family's comprehensive economic model. Thanks to that, my family's livestock model has grown more and more, on average I sell 30 buffaloes each year; tens of thousands of chicken and duck eggs and about 20 tons of fish fry. After deducting expenses, the family earns about 200 million VND each year.

Along with supporting and encouraging people to focus on economic development, the commune focuses on vocational training and job creation for rural workers, along with mobilizing people to work abroad or in industrial parks in the lowland provinces. Directing mass organizations to coordinate and sign contracts with credit institutions to create conditions for people to borrow capital at low interest rates and give investment incentives to develop economic models in the direction of commodity production. Focusing on implementing newly issued regulations and policies on enterprise and cooperative development, helping economic sectors gradually expand business types, create many high-quality products, and improve people's income and life. In addition, the commune makes the most of national target programs to invest in building a system of intra-field roads and irrigation canals to meet the needs of travel and transportation of agricultural products and goods; ensuring irrigation, creating momentum for socio-economic development.
Remarkable results
With the participation of the entire political system, along with the consensus and support of the people, after one term, up to now, in the commune there is 1 cooperative, 155 individual business households operating effectively in production and business; the total area of land for rice cultivation has reached 895 hectares (an increase of 65 hectares); people have converted ineffective land areas to grow tea, cinnamon, taro, and arrowroot on 288 hectares in 13 villages, initially showing effectiveness; people in the villages of Ma Tien, Nam Lung, Pho, and Sang Giang have planted and cared for 259 hectares of pear, macadamia, and purple cardamom. Thereby, ensuring irrigation for over 95% of the production land area; 100% of the villages have roads to the village that are hardened for convenient travel in all 4 seasons, reaching 100% compared to the Resolution.
The Party Committee leaders and the village chief of Ban Lang 2 propagated and instructed people on how to preserve and develop the Tan Khau Luong Phung sticky rice brand.
Specifically assessing the implementation of the resolution of the Party Congress of the commune in the past term, comrade Nguyen Huy Du was proud: Under the unity in leadership, direction and receiving high consensus, unanimous support and solidarity of all the people, many targets of the resolution were achieved and exceeded. Specifically: the average income per capita of the commune by the end of the term reached 45.7 million VND/person/year (reaching 130.57% of the resolution); the annual poverty rate reduction reached 7.85% (reaching 196.25% of the resolution); vocational training classes were organized for 550 rural workers, creating jobs for 250 workers (reaching 100% of the resolution); the rate of trained workers in the period 2020 - 2025 in the commune reached 50% (an increase of 15% compared to 2020). The above figures are clear evidence of the imprint of the correct and accurate leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the communal government and the perseverance of the entire people in overcoming difficulties during the past term. That result opens the door for the commune to continue to succeed in the new term - the term 2025 - 2030.
