“Godparent” model - bringing joy to students in difficult circumstances

Việt NamViệt Nam20/05/2024

Mr. Nguyen Tien Lam - Vice President of the Red Cross Society of Da Nang city presented support to Bao Ngoc and Bao Uyen on May 16, 2024.

Every month, Mr. and Mrs. Rudmalm support 50 USD equivalent to 1,250,000 VND. Although the amount is not large, it still contributes to supporting the family to cover family life and tuition fees for the two children. In March 2024, Mr. and Mrs. Rudmalm had the opportunity to visit their two goddaughters to support buying a new laptop for Ngoc Bao to serve her graphic design studies.

Through the CAA.A Organization and the Red Cross Society of Da Nang City on May 16, 2024, Mr. and Mrs. Rudmalm's family supported an additional $1,831 USD (equivalent to 46,044,157 VND) for the two children to buy vehicles to go to work to serve their studies and part-time jobs.

Also in the program “Godparents”, Mai Thi Hoang Ly (first-year student - Da Nang University of Education) lost her mother when she was three years old, and her father also left her forever. She lives with her grandmother and aunt, so her aunt takes care of all the burdens. Hoang Ly shared: “Since I received sponsorship from the CAA.A organization, my life has become less difficult. For me, this is a priceless gift, it not only helps my family reduce financial burdens but also is a source of spiritual encouragement to help us persevere and try harder in our studies. And my dream is to become a teacher to continue helping other disadvantaged students."

The City Red Cross Society provides support from foster parents through the CAA.A organization to children in difficult circumstances.

These are some of the many children who have received support from the CAA.A Sponsorship Program in cooperation with the Da Nang Red Cross Society since 2006. Each child has different difficult circumstances, but thanks to the support from their "parents", from benefactors... they have strived and made efforts to overcome their difficult circumstances to study, gradually moving towards a brighter and better future.

This is a practical and effective program for sustainable development implemented by the Da Nang Red Cross Society as a bridge and implementation to support students in difficult circumstances to continue going to school; progress in their studies; develop their talents, change their lives and personal psychology in a positive direction, have an independent life, have stable jobs, and improve their family's economic life.
