Việt NamViệt Nam25/12/2023

Duc Linh District Agricultural Technical and Service Center has just organized a field workshop on the model of raising tilapia in earthen ponds using industrial feed in Duc Tai town.

The model was deployed from August 2023, with a scale of 15,000 fish fry, raised in an earthen pond with an area of 1,000 m2 , with a water depth of about 1.8 m. The total cost of implementing the model is 75 million VND (including pond renovation costs, purchasing fish fry, industrial feed, and labor). After 4 months of raising, the fish have an average weight of 0.25-0.3 kg/fish. With the current selling price of 45,000 VND/kg, it is estimated that after harvest, after deducting costs, the model will yield a profit of over 28 million VND.

According to the assessment of the Duc Linh District Agricultural Technical and Service Center, the model of raising tilapia in earthen ponds brings high economic efficiency, suitable for local conditions. During the farming process, the survival rate of fish is over 96%, and there are no diseases. The market for tilapia consumption is relatively stable. Therefore, in the coming time, the district will continue to replicate this model, associated with product consumption for farmers.
