While iPhone sales remain the main source of revenue, Apple's services segment is playing an increasingly important role. In the third quarter of 2025, Apple said that the services segment, including all advertising, warranty, Apple Store, and movie and music revenue, reached $28.75 billion , up 15% year-over-year. For the full fiscal year 2025, services revenue will surpass $100 billion , up 14% year-over-year.
"We saw double-digit growth in both developed and emerging markets, and all-time records in advertising, the App Store, cloud services, music, payments and video ," CEO Tim Cook said during the company's earnings call in late October.
Services have grown 108% over the past five years, double the pace of hardware. This includes the App Store, Apple Pay, Apple TV+, Apple Music, and iCloud.
While the revenue contribution remains small, the profit of Apple's service network is remarkable. According to the financial report at the end of the third quarter of 2025, the gross profit margin of the service segment reached 75.3%, much higher than the profit of hardware at 36.2%.
For iPhone users, the limited storage of 32GB or 64GB on iPhone 11 models and earlier is seen as Apple's way of encouraging buyers to upgrade to higher storage versions, or use iCloud+. This is also one of the clever ways for the company to introduce its services to users.

In the Vietnamese market, Apple has also been expanding its service offerings in recent years. They sell the Apple One package (including iCloud+, Apple TV+, Music and Arcade, each of which can be purchased separately), providing AppleCare+ warranty packages from January 2023. Apple Pay is also available from August 2023.

Apple has more than a billion paid subscriptions to its services, growing at double-digit rates year-over-year. With more than 2 billion active devices worldwide, the growth potential for services remains huge. In a saturated hardware market, services could become an anchor for users to stay more engaged with their Apple devices, helping the company sustain long-term growth.
