The Vietnam-Russia friendship will continue to develop strongly and prosperously.

On the afternoon of June 11 in Hanoi, the Russian Embassy in collaboration with the Russian Center for Science and Culture held a ceremony to celebrate the National Day of the Russian Federation (June 12).

Attending the ceremony were Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko, Belarusian Ambassador to Vietnam Vladimir Vladimirovich Borovikov, and Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong.

The ceremony was also attended by officials who used to work in the land of white birch trees, former international students, representatives of organizations and officials and staff of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko was proud of Russia - one of the oldest European powers with a history of thousands of years. Hundreds of ethnic groups and peoples have contributed to the process of protecting, building and developing Russia, linked together by a unified multi-ethnic culture, by centuries-old traditions of tolerance, religion and love for the Fatherland.

The Ambassador emotionally shared that Russia has gone through countless challenges and each time has proven to the world its indomitability and ability to recover, always protecting the ideals of freedom and justice.

Ambassador Gennady Stepanovich Bezdetko thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Ministry of Science and Technology; and the Ministry of Education and Training for their close coordination with the Russian Embassy in carrying out many major and important activities; and for successfully organizing the fifth meeting of the Russia-Vietnam Committee on cooperation in the fields of education, science and technology.

He reviewed the successful performances of the Russian National Symphony Orchestra and the artists of the Ballet of the Hanoi Opera House, as well as the tour of the leading troupe of the Moscow State Academic Ballet Theater “Russian Ballet” named after VMGordeev.

The Russian Ambassador to Vietnam assessed that the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on turning the ASPushkin Institute of Russian Language in Hanoi into a regional educational center will expand cooperation opportunities in this important direction; further consolidate the exchange work between universities of the two countries.

In addition, he said, the restoration of direct flights is promoting increased delegation exchanges and tourist flows from both sides.

Following the speech of the Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi Vladimir Vladimirovich Murashkin shared that National Day is one of the most important days for all Russian people around the world.

“This day symbolizes everything that is precious to us: national sovereignty and independence, unity of people and unity of views on cultural diversity, art, literature, the power of the Russian language, beautiful nature and great scientific discoveries…”, said Mr. VV Murashkin.

Mr. VV Murashkin thanked his Vietnamese friends for accepting the invitation to attend today's ceremony. Looking back at history, the Russian and Vietnamese people are linked by a common past, united by a deep respect for each other's cultures.

Director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture Murashkin firmly believes that, "today, the Russians and Vietnamese present at the event all have special feelings and boundless love for our beloved Russia.

With faith in a bright future, throughout the 75-year history, the fraternal friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation will continue to develop strongly, for the common prosperity of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world."
