Heavy rain caused flooding in many places, traffic congestion

Heavy rain due to the impact of storm No. 6 (storm Trami) caused flooding in many areas in Quang Tri province, traffic congestion affecting people's lives and travel.

According to records, in Quang Tri on the morning of October 27, heavy rain caused Dakrong spillway bridge at Km0+307 National Highway 15D to be flooded 1.2m deep and spillway Km8+560 on DT.571 route to be flooded 0.35m deep, causing traffic congestion.

Many underground areas and roads in Quang Tri were flooded, causing traffic congestion.

In Vinh Linh district alone, some communes have been flooded, the river water is rising rapidly, close to the edge of the Ta Ben Hai dike and about to overflow the dike.

Power outage occurred in all communes of Vinh Giang, Vinh Son, Kim Thach, Vinh O, Vinh Ha, Cua Tung and partially in communes of Hien Thanh, Vinh Lam, Vinh Thuy, Trung Nam, Vinh Thai, Vinh Tu; the number of customers without power supplied by Vinh Linh Electricity was nearly 18,000 customers.

In Huong Hoa district, heavy rains and floods also caused water levels to rise, inundating culverts and spillways from 0.3m to 0.5m; causing the separation of three bridges and spillways in Loa and Hun villages (Ba Tang commune) and the Huc-Pa Lu spillway (Lia commune).

Currently, at deeply flooded and isolated areas, localities have deployed shock troops, police, and military to organize guarding; set up barriers to ensure safety, not allowing people and vehicles to pass through.

Ships and boats should anchor in safe storm shelters. Quang Tri province will ban sea travel from 3 p.m. on October 26.

In Quang Tri town, erosion and flooding also occurred in some low-lying areas (roads in Ward 1 and Ward 3; Tuong Lai Kindergarten, Ward 3), currently 8 households are flooded. In Gio Hai commune (Gio Linh), 4 shops at the beach have collapsed and completely collapsed.

Provincial roads DT.571, DT.586, DT.587, DT.588a were flooded from 15 - 40cm causing traffic congestion.

At Km23+900 Cam Lo – La Son expressway, the section passing through Hai Le commune, Quang Tri town, the left side of the road collapsed. Here, the soil and rocks slid down and spread out to nearly half of the road surface.
