According to the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command, due to the influence of storm No. 12 (Fengshen), from this evening and tonight, the wind in the sea area of Da Nang City will gradually increase to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, waves from 2-4m high, rough seas.
Due to the influence of storm circulation and cold air combined with East wind disturbances and terrain effects, from the evening and night of October 22 to 27, in Da Nang City, there is a high possibility of widespread, prolonged heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. Rivers in the area are likely to rise to alert level 2 to alert level 3, with some rivers above alert level 3. The forecast level of natural disaster risk due to floods and inundations is level 2-3.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, requested communes and wards to proactively deploy disaster prevention plans according to the "4 on-site" motto, focusing on arranging vehicles, forces on duty and regulating traffic at high-risk flood areas. The education sector needs to closely monitor the situation and proactively let students take time off from school when necessary.
For urban areas, the Department of Construction will review and mark flooded areas for monitoring and handling; step up propaganda so that people can proactively relocate their assets, and at the same time encourage people to remove objects covering manholes to increase drainage capacity.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinates with relevant units to closely monitor developments of heavy rain, landslides, and flash floods, and work with hydropower and irrigation units to regulate water levels according to prescribed scenarios.
The heavy rains from October 22 to 27 pose a high risk of flash floods, landslides and widespread flooding, so Mr. Tran Nam Hung requested localities to immediately activate response plans, promptly inform each residential area and household and proactively evacuate to a safe place.
Currently, volunteer organizations are mobilizing about 300 small boats to help move people from flooded areas. All vehicles are under the unified command of the Da Nang City Military Command.
Mr. Tran Nam Hung noted that people need to stock up on food and necessities for at least 3 days and all plans must be completed before 5:00 p.m. on October 22.
