Heavy rains in the Central Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions from now until June 13.

On the morning of June 11, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that heavy rain continued to occur over a wide area in the Central Central region, Central Highlands and the South.

From 7:00 p.m. on June 10 to the morning of June 11, the meteorological agency measured rainfall at stations such as: Hai Lam (Quang Tri) 95.8mm; Ia Dom (Kon Tum) 88.6mm; Ayun Trung Hydroelectric Dam (Hue) 78.2mm. Notably, Nhon Hoa commune ( Gia Lai ) recorded rainfall of up to 156.4mm.

It is forecasted that today and tonight, the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 30-70mm, some places over 150mm.

From the night of June 11 to the end of June 13, rain continued to expand and increase in the Central Central region and the Northern Central Highlands. The average rainfall during this period in the Central Central region is forecast to be from 100-300mm, with some places over 450mm; in the Northern Central Highlands from 70-150mm, with some places over 200mm.

It is forecasted that from June 14, heavy rain in the above areas will gradually decrease.

The meteorological agency warned of the risk of localized heavy rain, exceeding 200mm within 6 hours, potentially causing flash floods, landslides and inundation in low-lying areas.

Faced with prolonged heavy rains and increasing risks of natural disasters, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has issued a dispatch requesting proactive responses to heavy rains, floods, flash floods and landslides in the Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions.

The dispatch, signed by Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep, requested localities to strictly implement the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 76/CD-TTg, closely monitor the weather situation, promptly inform people, organize shock forces to inspect and review high-risk areas to proactively evacuate and ensure safety for people and property.

At key traffic points, localities arrange forces to be on duty, not allowing people and vehicles to pass when safety is not guaranteed; prepare plans to protect agricultural production, residential areas, tourist areas and mineral exploitation sites...
