A bustling Tet festival

During the traditional Lunar New Year, many locals and tourists visited historical sites to celebrate the spring festival, pay tribute, and contemplate the value of peace . According to the Quang Nam Provincial Management Board of Historical Sites and Scenic Spots, during the 2025 Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), the unit welcomed and served nearly 4,000 visitors who came to visit and offer incense at the Monument to the Heroic Vietnamese Mother and the Memorial Area of Chairman of the State Council Vo Chi Cong.

Besides the two World Heritage sites, Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, which are always crowded with tourists, other major tourist attractions in Quang Nam also prepare traditional Tet celebrations for visitors to enjoy.

Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Giau, General Manager of Vinwonders Nam Hoi An, said that in addition to the regular activities, Vinwonders Nam Hoi An will celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake with a vibrant lion and dragon dance performance to usher in prosperity; and will also organize a series of free events at the main entrance of the amusement park: the Three Regions Spring Fair - Quang Nam Lottery (from the 3rd to the 6th day of Tet)...

To welcome the new year 2025, on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year), at Hoi An Memory Island, the "Hoi An Memories" show officially launched its new version. Featuring a series of modern, high-class effects and a significant investment of millions of USD, this marks a remarkable step forward in recreating the cultural and historical beauty of Hoi An ancient town.

This time of year, the Dong Giang Sky Gate Eco- tourism Area (Dong Giang district) also celebrates the Lunar New Year with many exciting experiences. These include traditional folk games such as pot smashing, can throwing, and ring tossing; cultural exchange at the Co Tu village - experiencing folk singing, stilt walking, and bamboo pole dancing…

According to representatives of the Dong Giang Heaven's Gate Eco-tourism Area, during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake, the destination welcomed approximately 5,000 to 8,000 visitors per day, and the "Opening Spring at Heaven's Gate" program at the tourist area will continue until the 9th day of the first lunar month.

Kick off the festive season!

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Nam's tourism industry had a very successful Lunar New Year holiday, welcoming approximately 395,000 visitors (from the 26th day of the 12th lunar month to the 5th day of the 1st lunar month). Of these, an estimated 157,000 were international tourists and 238,000 were domestic tourists. Most indicators showed an increase of 20-40% compared to the same period in 2024.

“In particular, the number of tourists staying at accommodation establishments in the central area of Hoi An City during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake was very high, with occupancy rates for 4-5 star hotels estimated at 90-95%. Meanwhile, hotels in the coastal area were estimated at around 70%, and 2-3 star hotels or equivalent were estimated at 60-65%. These guests were mainly those who booked rooms in advance of the Lunar New Year, with few individual guests,” Mr. Hong said.

As is customary, immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, Hoi An city will be bustling with a series of unique festivals. On February 4th (the 7th day of the first lunar month), the Cau Bong ceremony will take place in Tra Que vegetable village, and the award for Best Tourist Village by UN Tourism will be announced.

On February 8-9 (January 11-12), the ancestral worship ceremony and the traditional craft village festival of Kim Bong will take place. Following that, there will also be the sticky corn festival of Cam Nam, the Cua Dai fishing festival, and more.

During the first two months of the lunar year, many other impressive festivals are held throughout the province, promising to attract large numbers of locals and tourists, such as: the procession of the statue of Lady Cho Duoc (Thang Binh), the festival of Lady Chiem Son (Duy Xuyen), the festival of Lady Thu Bon (Duy Xuyen and Que Son), the Ky Yen festival and the village festival of Loc Yen (Tien Phuoc)...
