Mr. Dinh Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Muong Khieng Commune, said: The commune was established on the basis of merging the communes of Bo Muoi, Muong Khieng, and Liep Te, with a total area of over 20,400 hectares and a population of 24,570 people, including 4 ethnic groups: Thai, La Ha, Khang, and Kinh. The arrangement and merger of commune-level administrative units is an opportunity for the commune to innovate, improve its working capacity, and move towards a more substantive administration serving the people. The Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune have stepped up propaganda and dissemination so that cadres, party members, and people clearly understand the meaning and purpose of the policy, creating high consensus throughout the Party Committee and political system.
Taking people's satisfaction as a measure, the commune promotes the application of information technology in the management and provision of public services; 100% of cadres and civil servants are proficient in using electronic document management software; the commune-level online public service portal has been deployed, helping people to conveniently submit documents and receive results on the internet. Since the beginning of July, the Commune Public Administration Service Center has received and processed more than 300 administrative records, 100% of which were processed on time and in accordance with regulations. Telecommunications infrastructure is being invested synchronously, with over 85% of households having internet-connected devices, creating favorable conditions for popularizing digital services to each village and each household.
Having just completed the birth registration procedure and issued a health insurance card for his child at the Commune Administrative Service Center, Mr. Lo Van Nghiem, Thong O village, shared: With enthusiastic guidance from the commune officials, I received the results after 1 day, very convenient and fast. Hopefully with this change, Muong Khieng will develop more and more, and the people's lives will be further improved.
As a locality with diverse terrain and located on the vast Son La hydroelectric reservoir, Muong Khieng has great potential for developing agriculture , forestry, aquaculture and community tourism. Mr. Luong Van Quyet, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, shared: The whole commune currently has 1,500 hectares of fruit trees, mainly mango and longan; raising nearly 450 fish cages on the Son La hydroelectric reservoir, with an output of about 400-450 tons/year. People are gradually applying the model of fish farming according to the chain link, towards sustainable commodity production.
In the field of trade and services, the commune promotes the exploitation of the potential of eco-tourism and community tourism in Na Muong and Bo Muoi villages, associated with preserving and promoting the fine traditions of Thai ethnic culture, traditional crafts and local cuisine .
With high determination, Muong Khieng commune focuses on building synchronous infrastructure, forming concentrated production areas; developing sustainable trade, services and community tourism, improving the quality of life for the people.
