US cancels thousands of flights to avoid storm

The National Weather Service said the Washington, D.C., area is under a tornado watch and is at risk of severe damage from strong winds, severe hail and tornadoes, even tornadoes. Tornado warnings and watches have been issued in 10 states, from Tennessee to New York.
